    • Confirmation

      Rite Of Confirmation

      Our Confirmation Program is finally getting its act together.  If you are interested in recieving the Sacrament of Confirmation in the year 2012, there is a MANDATORY Parents meeting at 7pm on January 25th, in the Main Church Building.  Lack of attendance may result in the post-poning of your teen's reception of the Sacrament until the next Confirmation class in 2013.  Information will be provided in Spanish for those who need.

      This is the ONLY opportunity to sign up for Confirmation this Year.  Any attendance issues must be addressed PRIOR TO THE MEETING DATE.

      Is it an opinion? a belief? a set of values? a way of life?  What does it truly mean to be pro-life?

      This is an excellent video that explores just that.  The root of the issue is personhood, and who has a right to choose which people are persons.

      This is not an issue to be cast aside, a debate to be ignored, a difference of opinion to be compromised.  People are dying, and it continues because we don't do anything to stop it.  How will you defend the helpless?

      Welcome to Sacred Heart Youth Ministry
       

      Our mission here at Sacred Heart Youth Ministry is to unite teens to Christ by greater knowledge and love through engaging catechesis and witness in deep personal relationships. 

      We believe that Christ passionately desires a relationship with young people.  Through this relationship with Jesus, teens can come to a greater understanding of their lives, their purpose, morality, servant leadership and many other fundamentals.  As they begin to embark on the quest to define themselves, these qualities, along with the irreplaceable strength that comes from knowing God, will form the building blocks for them to create a solid foundation in their lives.  By working as a community we can come to give these teens a faith life which has the power to drive their growth for the rest of their lives.

      Our Life Teen program for our High Schoolers will take place every Sunday following the 5pm Mass

      The EDGE program for 7th and 8th graders will be held each Tuesday at 6:15pm.

      A weekend on getting to know God and the battle against sin. 

      Feb 24-26 at the Glen Forest Retreat Center in Huntsville, TX

      Come and join us for a weekend of faith and fun as we explore together how to live our faith in a world that would tempt us else where.  A perfect way to truly enter into the Lenten season, this retreat is open to all High School teens and is relevant to all, whether your heart is already burning for God, or hasn't decide if He even exists.  Come and meet our Commander in the battlefiedl of faith.  This is an opportunity you won't want to miss!

      This semester is all about the Church, God's holy people.  What do we do?  Why do we do it? and Where did it all come from?  Join us as we explore these questions and more.  What a blessing to be Catholic... isn't it time you learned a little bit more about this beautiful faith you are a part of?  Hope to see you there!

      It doesn't happen all the time, but we're actually studying the same main theme as the high schoolers.  Of course, its going to have its own spin and particular topics.  Junior high, you are the future and present of the Catholic Church.  Dome and discoverexactly what that entails.  See you on Tuesday!

      World Youth Day has come to a close, and while the event is over, the messages which came forth resound strongly.  Check out the different speeches from the event.  The Church is calling her young people to be apostles of Christ in the 21st century.  Will you respond to that call?
